Last Monday, we met Matthew Cooper, a Sai Kung resident and author of "Lost in Hong Kong." Matt read us his book and also talked the process involved when thinking about his stories and how the pictures are drawn. He also showed us some of the possible characters he thought about before he decided on a pet dog for the main character. The children clearly loved the story and the illustrations as well.
Last Tuesday, we celebrated literacy week by having a pyjama reading day. The children were all so excited to come to school wearing their pj's and the children spent their exploration time that morning, listening to fantastic story books in small groups. A big thank you goes to our parent readers: Lorena, Divya and Rachel.
We ended literacy week by having a dress-up as a book character day! The children looked wonderful wearing their special costumes and had a chance to show the rest of the children in the primary school during our special literacy week assembly.
