Chen Lao Shi and I had a wonderful time getting to know and spending each day with our PK1ren's this year. We are sad to say goodbye as we will definitely miss them but we are also happy and proud of how much they have grown and have achieved this year. We would like to thank all you parents for all your help in the classroom and for your continuous support! We wish you all a fantastic summer break!!!
Both Sienna and Aria have birthdays after school finishes but we were able to celebrate their birthdays in class! Happy 4th birthday to Sienna on June 22 and to Aria on July 31.
For our last buddy session, our G2 buddies read their autobiographies to our PK1's. Our PK1's particularly enjoyed seeing their buddy's baby photos. Afterwards, they had the chance to have snack together and a bit of playtime outside. It was wonderful everyone being caring and wishing each other a nice summer break.
We were so thankful that the weather cooperated yesterday! The children definitely had a great time getting wet from the sprinkler, splashing in the paddling pools and wetting one another with buckets of water!
The children had a great time showing their classmates the animals/toys they brought for show and tell yesterday. They then helped set-up the SPCA in our home corner. The children loved role-playing being the pet owners, SPCA workers and some even pretended to be pets!
The children has the opportunity to visit one of the PK2 classrooms as part of preparing them for their move to PK2. The children not only got to explore and play in the classroom we also talked about the things that they noticed that were the same and different.
We've been working on our class number book and most of the children were keen to contribute to the book. The children drew bats, a car with cracks, fish, Katy Perry etc. We've also been playing the Find the Number game and this game helps practice the children's counting skills and match the number of items to the right number displayed on the board.
Last week, our students helped harvest the chives during recess. They used scissors did a good job cutting them. They even brought some home to share with the family.
